Cancer Won't Bully Me

Throughout life everyone faces their own GIANTS.

Unfortunately, for so many kids today that GIANT is CANCER.

When faced with a GIANT people often wonder, how will I overcome this. First, we must believe that the GIANTS in our lives can be defeated. We must also realize the battle isn't ours to fight alone. The battle belongs to the Lord!

David told Goliath, "This is the Lord's battle, and he will give you to us!" (1 Samuel 17:47).

David understood that while defeating his GIANT seemed impossible, with the Lord on his side all things are possible. The Bible tells us, "As Goliath moved closer to attack, David quickly ran out to meet him" (1 Samuel 17:48).  I've met so many children battling cancer who are just like David. They are strong, brave and inspiring. They continue to fight despite what's put in front of them or what the doctors say.

My nephew, John, reminds me of so many of these children. That's part of why our motto is "CANCER WON'T BULLY ME". Despite what John was told, he always stayed positive. He didn't allow cancer to ruin or run his life. He knew that it wasn't just about facing the GIANT. It was important to him that he lived life to the fullest despite the GIANT. He inspired us and the community of people around him.

It is now our goal to help other children facing GIANTS. Every child has a different need, but every child deserves a world where CANCER isn't a GIANT that they have to face. So, let's continue to pray for every child who is battling CHILDHOOD CANCER and help them defeat the GIANTS in their lives.
